I like the dress but I would say the XL in this particular dress fits more like a medium. The gingham dress from this same company I can wear the large and have some extra space. I don't understand the differences in measurements and there are no measurements to go by for each particular item you order..so it's a guessing game. I purchased a separate tie up top to wear with this and it solves my issue with this dress.
